Onboarding Gen Y
Logo

I had a great professor, Laura B. Schildkraut, while at the University of Washington Bothell. After noticing some of my design work in the presentations I had given in class, she had asked me to help conceive a new style for her company, Onboarding Gen Y. Her previous design was more traditional but already had good elements. So, rather than revamping what she had built, I reinvisioned it. I decided to go with a positive-negative space scheme using a single puzzle piece (an element that was there before). I used serif font Cambria for the “Y” (which was similar to the University of Washington logo font at the time), as it reflected the original scheme of the logo. Wanting a more contemporary style for the title logo, I went with the sans-serif font Frutiger. I used two different weights to bring depth and balance to overall look. Professor Schildkraut had helped me discover my inner entrepreneur and reminded me about the potential career in designing I might have, so I was pleased to help her with this project.
